Hi! My name is Tessla, and I’m the owner and author of COFFEE AND CRIME. I am a twenty-something English teacher and voracious reader. Hence the title of the blog, I deeply appreciate all things crime fiction because of their page-turning qualities; for me, nothing’s better than being so engrossed in a suspenseful thriller that I can easily tune out the rest of the world.
In addition to crime fiction, I love young adult novels, narrative nonfiction, and some science-fiction (it’s growing on me!). I also love that recently, it seems that suspense is edging its way into young adult fiction, creating page-turners like If You’re Out There by Katy Loutzenhiser and One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus. I think this is creating a new sub-genre that many young people (and adults alike!) will gravitate toward.
